Archives Week takes place in Saskatchewan from February 4th – February 10th this year, and the Moose Jaw Public Library has a couple of events in their archives to celebrate.

On Wednesday, February 7th at 2:30 p.m. they’ll be holding an event to commemorate the contributions of Leith Knight (1924-2013).

“An unveiling of a plaque celebrating Leith Knight, who was the person who actually started the archive. She was an archive librarian, and she also wrote a regular column for the times Herald,” said Shevaun Ruby, assistant head librarian with the Moose Jaw Public Library.

On Thursday, February 8th at 2:30 p.m., they’ll be exploring the archives, with photos and artifacts of the Moose Jaw Wild Animal Park.

“We have a really lovely archive in our library here that not a ton of people know about,” said Ruby.

This event will include a presentation by Stephanie Jeans, their archive technician, and offer attendees a chance to ask questions.
