LIESA TEMPLE (KONNERTH)

December 9th, 1927 - February 26th, 2024

Liesa Emma Temple aged 96 years of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away peacefully at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital on Monday, February 26th, 2024.  She lived a remarkable and full life.  In keeping with Liesa’s wishes, a Private Service has taken place.

Liesa Linden was born in Germany to parents Otto and Elise Linden.  Her father purchased farmland and it became part of East Germany after the Second World War.  Along with her sister, Gerda, she escaped to West Germany where she lived and worked for many years.  In 1955, Liesa immigrated to Canada and married Michael Konnerth and settled in Moose Jaw.  She had two daughters, Teresa and Marion.  After Michael passed away in 1984, Liesa remarried Alfred Temple in 1987.

Liesa was known for being a fabulous cook and baker, particularly her Black Forest Cake.  She had a green thumb and always had a bountiful garden.  She loved to play cards and had a sharp sense of humour.  Liesa’s hobbies were to crochet and knit.  Her skill at crocheting was phenomenal.  She loved to travel and saw Canada from coast to coast, as well as returned to Germany several times to visit her siblings.

She was predeceased by both husbands; stepdaughter, Sandra Merlin; and sisters: Irma, Ilsa, and Gerda.  Her younger sister, Erna, passed away on February 19th, 2024.  Liesa is survived by her brother, Heinz (Inge) Linden; daughters, Teresa (Barry) Robinson and Marion (Dennis) Belisle, children Michael (Amber) Klaffke and Lisa (Jeff) Weinrick; stepdaughter, Bev Dunlop, children Jeff, Andrea, and Chris; grandchildren, Suzanne (Grant) Howg and Russell Merlin; and several great-grandchildren.

Thank you to Dr. Rinninsland for all the years that he took such good care of mom.  Thank you also to the caring staff at Crescent Park Retirement Villa who looked after her over the past year, and to the staff at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Reginal Hospital who ensured her final days were filled with comfort and caring.

May Liesa’s memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
