Prairie gardeners will be uniting at the library this week.

A Gathering of Prairie Gardeners: Seedy Saturday will be happening at the Moose Jaw Public Library on Saturday, April 27 from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The focus for this year is pollinator gardens and gardens that help the environment.

“We’ll be having a presentation from Gail Fennel, who has been the head gardener for Regina for a while now,” said James Miller, reference technician at the Moose Jaw Public Library.

“She’s going to come speak with us and talk about pollinator gardens, greener green spaces – just making better use of the space that we have, that’ll be better for the environment, better for bees.”

Miller added that there will be a speaker from Wild About Moose Jaw, a new local group that focuses on pollinator gardens. “They will also be providing a bunch of activities for children in a room across the hall – everything from colouring sheets to painting to planting a seed in a little plant pot.”

No pre-registration is required.
