The Moose Jaw Warriors edged Red Deer 4-3 in overtime Tuesday night, winning their 5th straight game.

 

After starting the season winless in five, the Moose Jaw Warriors have now put together a five game winning streak.

The latest win came Tuesday night as they beat Red Deer 4-3 in overtime.

The teams skated to a scoreless first period, three minutes into the second the Warriors Tomas Karpov opened the scoring with his 5th of the year.  However, the Rebels tied the game under three minutes later with Brandon Sutter's 4th of the year.

With under a minute to go in the second and the Warriors on the power play, Joel Broda beat Rebels goalie James Reimer to break the tie.  Again the Rebels would reply back, with 29 seconds left in the period Willie Coetzee slid one past Joey Perricone, tying the game at two heading into the third.

The Warriors dominated the shot clock in the third, outshooting Red Deer 17-5.  With seven minutes left in the game, Jordan Knackstedt broke the tie with his 5th of season.

Warriors defenseman Ryan Stanton picked up a penalty late in the third, and with the goalie pulled, the Rebels went onto a 6-on-4 attack.  Clayton Bauer scored with 33 seconds left, tying the game at three, sending the game into overtime.

As the third period wind down the Rebels Cullen Morin got his stick up high on Jason Bast, drawing blood and a four minute penalty, which allowed the Warriors to start overtime on the power play.

A 1:23 into overtime, Terrence Delaronde jumped on a loose puck, hammering it into the Rebel net, and lifting the Warriors to a 4-3 overtime win.

Joey Perricone made 27 saves in the win, while James Reimer made 43 in the loss.

The Warriors record sits at 5-3-2 heading into the weekend.  Friday Medicine Hat's in town, while on Saturday the Lethbridge Hurricanes head to the friendly city.
