It's a mainstay of the Christmas Season here in Moose Jaw, and it's back again this year!

Starting today, Nov. 26, you can head down to the Co-op Parking Lot and pick out your very own Christmas tree from the Wakamow Rotary Club Tree Stand.

The annual tree sale is the Rotary Club's biggest fundraiser, with the majority of the proceeds going to support local childhood literacy and food security efforts.

Spokesperson Whitt Wyatt explains how they're keeping the tree stand safe.

"It is an entirely outdoor experience and people can wear masks and socially distance inside of the enclosure. They can pick out their favourite tree and all payments will be made through a window that we have set up."

Wyatt says they're planning to bring in about 400 trees in total with a variety of fresh evergreens such as frasers, balsams, and firs.

"We'll have the shop open from 11:00 in the morning till 8:00 at night, most nights. Sunday hours will be a bit shorter. We hope to sell out sooner than later, but we expect it'll be open to about December 16."

The shop is entirely manned by volunteers and Wyatt says it's one of the more fun activities they get to take part in throughout the year.
