Summer GAX, the Largest Saskatchewan Gamer's Convention, wrapped up this Sunday after a weekend of competition and fun. This summer the Moose Jaw Gamer's Association held the expo at the Cultural Centre, with games ranging from tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons to Virtual Reality, Super Smash Bros, and classic Atari games.

Kristian Sjoberg, the Media Relations Executive with the Moose Jaw Gamer's Association, explained the new changes to the Moose Jaw Gamers as an organization.

"I've been coming to GAX for almost 10 years now, and we've always helped each other. We officially became a charity this last year, but we've been running as a non-profit charity for almost 10 years, we just weren't official. We had the same bylaws and everything, and like I say I've been involved pretty much since the first time we did it."

Sjoberg detailed this year's primary charity goal, funding and promotion for Moose Jaw's Food Bank.

"This year we are donating to the Moose Jaw District Food Bank, they're launching a new program this year called Mighty Munchies. We're helping them promote that, and at the end of our year we will be giving them our donation of all the money we raised from our different fundraisers."

The event included many competitions, thousands of dollars in prizes, a life-sized hand-painted Infinity Gauntlet, and a chance at the Canadian Catan Championship.

"We are currently, just (Sunday) morning here, setting up for the Settlers of Catan National Qualifier, so whoever wins the tournament, which is going on all day, will be invited to the nationals, which is in Ontario."

GAX will be back this winter, for more information you can visit the Moose Jaw Gamer's Association website.
