Allergy season can be an uncomfortable time for many people with the dust, mold and pollen in the air.

Things like changing your furnace filters, trying to keep the dust down in your house, and keeping pets out of the sensitive areas of the household including bedding and pillows, are all good options.

Pharmacist, Leah Perrault, says there are many other options as well.

"This is the time of year when people start to suffer and we've got lots of options over the counter for people. There's one a day non-drowsy options that are a good choice for a lot of people. And then there's medications that work a little bit more quickly that can help in a pinch."

Perrault says that allergy symptoms include itchy and watery eyes, an itchy nose, a stuffed up or runny nose and a tickle in the back of your throat.

If you're not certain if you have allergies, talk to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
