The Foraging Into The Future Conference opened Wednesday in Swift Current.

Regional Forage Specialist Trevor Lennox says the theme for this year’s event is Building Blocks of Success noting that the presenters will be able to relate how they’ve used various techniques to improve their operations.Lennox said, " This is an event we have in the region every two years bringing

Lennox said, " This is an event we have in the region every two years bringing together speakers on grazing topics, beef production, and grazing management. We're just trying to bring some updated information to producers."

Participants will have an opportunity to interact and discuss topics like soil health, water development, economics, grazing management, animal selection and forage production.

Regional Forage Specialist Trevor Lennox says they’ve brought in a great line up of speakers but notes there’s a lot of interest in the producer panel tomorrow.

Lennox said, " We have Sean McGrath talking about AI on the commercial producer level. We also have Dwayne Thompson who spoke at this event a few years before. We've got him back again, he's actually talking about cattle handling and also livestock handling. We also have Byron and Micheal Clark, from the Kindersley area, will talk about some economics of beef production and some of their own numbers."

Producers will also learn more about cover crops, stock handling, corn grazing, heifer development and forage rejuvenation.
