The change in the weather to warmer conditions is a welcome site for farmers.

Agri-meteorologist Drew Lerner with World Weather Inc was in Saskatchewan this week talking with producers in Swift Current and Kindersley.

Lerner says we could still see some fluctuations with the weather:

"Now these next three weeks are going to be really nice and we're all going to have the itch to get into the fields and we might get rid of the snow and really start firming up the soil in a few spots, mostly in the Southwest but in April we

will probably take a setback probably one of these cold air masses coming along, we will chill out a bit maybe even have a storm system into the area," Lerner said.

He’s encouraged that producers that still have crops out in the field should be able to get it off in a timely fashion.

He says the exception may possibly be in the South East corner of the province where they could see a 2 to 3-week delay getting into the field because of the moisture there.
