Thursday marked the single deadliest day since the start of the pandemic in Saskatchewan after the government reported 13 more individuals who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

One individual was in their 60's from Saskatoon, three were in their 70's located in the far north-central, north-central, and Saskatoon zone, and nine were in the 80 plus age group, with six located in Saskatoon, one in the southeast, one in the far northeast, and one in the north-central zone.

227 new cases were also announced, along with 816 new recoveries.

Of the new cases, 62 are in Saskatoon, 50 in Regina, 21 in the north-central zone, 18 in the northwest, 14 in the far northwest, 12 in the central-east, 12 in the southeast, 11 in the northeast, seven in the far northeast, six in the far north-central zone, four in the central-west, four in the south-central zone, and two in the southwest. Four new cases are pending resident information.

3,099 cases are considered active, and 197 people are in hospital, with 166 people receiving inpatient care and 31 are in intensive care.

2,548 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were also administered Wednesday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 29,781.
