The Moose Jaw Police Service confirmed the death Monday afternoon (file photo)
The Moose Jaw Police Service has confirmed that a 16-year-old has passed away as a result of a drowning incident in Wakamow Valley on Friday evening.
The investigation of the incident has now been handed over to the Saskatchewan Coroner's Office.
The boy's name has not been officially released, but friends of the family have started a GoFundMe page to help raise money for funeral expenses.
According to the GoFundMe page, the boy recently came to Canada with his family from Ethiopia.
