The government of Saskatchewan announced 44 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, with 20 of the cases located in Saskatoon, seven in the northeast region, five in the north-central, three in the northwest, three in Regina, two in the far northwest, two in the central east, one in the far northwest and one in the south-central zone. A full map of 'cases per zone' can be found below.

Public health investigations are underway to determine the source of transmission, and almost all of Saskatoons cases have been linked to outbreaks at local nightclubs.

427 cases are considered active.

14 more recoveries were announced as well, and 18 people are in hospital. 16 people are receiving inpatient care and two people are in intensive care.

While the Saskatchewan Health Authority includes Moose Jaw as part of the 'South Central' region and does not issue numbers specific to our city, we have confirmed we have had, and do currently have existing cases within the city of Moose Jaw.

The government of Saskatchewan also provided the following information regarding the upcoming elections.

Vote Safe in 2020

E-day is coming for both provincial and municipal elections in Saskatchewan and Elections Saskatchewan has developed the tools necessary to keep it safe. All residents are required not only to abide by public health orders in place, but the safety measures Elections Saskatchewan has provided to protect voters, election workers and candidate representatives at the polls and returning offices.

EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES

While a record number of residents have requested mail-in ballots for the provincial election, consider advance polls available in your area. Consider scheduling to mark your ballot during the mid-morning or mid-afternoon on election day, when provincial and municipal polls may have less traffic.

Elections Saskatchewan has implemented options for residents unable to vote in person. For more information on these, and the COVID-19 precautions Elections Saskatchewan is taking, visit www.elections.sk.ca.
