60 new cases of COVID-19 were announced in Saskatchewan Thursday, with 21 located in Saskatoon, 13 located in the North Central region, six in the far northeast, four in Regina, four in the northwest, three in the northeast, two in the far northwest, two in the southeast, and one case in the Central West, Central East, South West, and south-central zones. One case location is pending.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province have been added to the total case counts. One case has been assigned to the northwest zone and one case has pending residence location.

22 more recoveries were announced, and 509 cases are considered active.

21 people are in hospital, with 18 receiving inpatient care and three in intensive care.

The government of Saskatchewan also provided an update on testing numbers and cases for youth.

 

As of October 18, for those aged 0 to 19 years, 44,269 tests have been performed with 1.0 per cent positivity rate, which is in line with the provincial positivity rate of 1.0 per cent. A total of 431 cases have been identified since the pandemic event began in the province.

  • 0-4 years: 10,449 tests and 83 cases
  • 5 to 13 years: 18,845 tests and 164 cases
  • 14 to 19 years: 14,975 tests and 184 cases
