In the daily update released Saturday afternoon, the provincial Ministry of Health reported 280 new cases of COVID-19 and 190 recoveries. This has brought the total number of active cases across the province to 2,143.

Of the new cases reported, 127 were in Regina. Another 51 new cases were reported in the Saskatoon area. Outside of the two major cities, there were 24 new cases in the South East zone, 20 in the South Central zone, 18 in the North West zone, 11 in the North East zone, 10 in the Central East zone, six in the Far North West and South West zones, three in the North Central zone and one in the Far North East and Central West zones. There are two cases pending residence information.

There are currently 189 people in Saskatchewan who are receiving treatment or COVID-19 in hospital. Of those, 42 are in intensive care.

The daily update reported 5,504 vaccines being administered in Saskatchewan Friday. There were 1,854 doses administered in the Saskatoon area, 1,318 in the Regina area, 1,035 in the Central East area, 462 in the South Central area, 383 in the South West area, 283 in the North West, 158 in the South East and 11 in the Far North West.
