The Moose Jaw Warriors are well represented at the 40th annual Mac’s Midget AAA Tournament in Calgary with eight prospects suiting up for this year’s tournament.

Three of those prospects were a part of a massive win on Thursday during the round robin as Drae Gardiner, Cameron Sterling, Matthew Sanders and the Calgary Buffaloes rolled to a 15-1 win over the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes.

Gardiner finished with a goal and three points in the win, while Sterling scored twice and Sanders picked up one assist.

The win improved the Buffaloes’ record to 2-0 in round robin play at the Mac’s with two more games to go. They face the Cariboo Cougars on Friday and then the Knights of Columbus Pats on Saturday.

In other Warriors-related results from Thursday at the Mac’s:

2016 first round pick Brayden Tracey and the Calgary Northstars battled the Valley West Hawks to a 2-2 tie. They’re 1-0-1 heading into games against the Aridrie Bisons on Friday and Regina Pat Canadians on Saturday.

Alek Sukunda and the Vancouver NW Giants lost 4-2 to the Red Deer Chiefs to fall to 0-2-0. They close out the round robin by facing the Saskatoon Contacts on Friday and Calgary Flames on Saturday.

Hayden Tuba and the Greater Vancouver Canadians dropped a 7-0 game to the Prince Albert Mintos. That loss drops them to 0-2-0. They square off with the New York Jr. Islanders on Friday and the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday.

Cade Hayes and the Tisdale Trojans are 1-1-0 after they lost 3-1 to the Calgary Royals on Thursday. They play the Hungarian U18 team on Friday and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds on Saturday.
