With the 2021 PRISM awards having to be put on hold this year, the Business Women of Moose Jaw had to look elsewhere to raise money for the Moose Jaw Transition House.

Typically, the award night is not just to honour PRISM winners but also serves as a fundraiser for the shelter.

Chair of the Business Women of Moose Jaw, Crystal Milburn.

"In partnership with the Transition house, we have decided to host a 50/50 lottery. We're hoping that people come out and support a really good cause, and also give themselves a chance to put a little money back into their own pocket, up to $50,000."

The 50/50 is already up and running and will be selling tickets until the end of April. Milburn says now is a crucial time to support the Transition House.

"I think we've all see the statistics knowing that throughout the pandemic, with people staying at home more, that there's been an increase in domestic violence and interpersonal violence and that the need for services like those that the Transition House offers are more necessary than ever before."
