The Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce All Candidates Forum was well attended Monday night and touch on some of the big issues in this campaign.

It was a chance to meet your candidates, learn more about them and ask questions. While about 300 people did take the chance to meet the candidates, only two took the opportunity to ask questions at the open mic.

The Chamber of Commerce All Candidates Forum was Monday night at the Heritage Inn and was very well attended as local voters prepare to make their mark on October 14th. The crowd was very interested in what the candidates had to say and respected what was said.

With no incumbent in the Palliser riding the race is really up for grabs. Ray Boughen represents the Conservatives, Larissa Shasko is running for the Green Party, the Liberals have Cal Johnston while Don Mitchell is a member of the NDP.

It was clear from the start that there really was no one topic that presented itself as the top election issue. Instead, candidates focused on their platforms and their personal track records in the Palliser riding. The one common topic was why they deserved our vote.

After the forum most folks that we spoke with were pleased with the information they collected and felt more prepared for Election Day.

"I'm going to take away the good points that each one of them offered and there were some points that I did not understand until I came here."

"You wanna look at the issues with a little more depth and find out that some of the promises that are made actually have costs attached to them and then try to associate those, then try to make a decision."

Candidates are putting in a lot of overtime right now as we head in to the final two weeks of the campaign. Stay tuned to 800 CHAB, Country 100.7fm or Mix 103.9 to hear from them this week.
