The bats were humming for the U13 AAA Moose Jaw Canucks Monday in a pair of wins over the Estevan Brewers.

The Canucks won 18-9 and 16-5 in a Saskatchewan Day afternoon doubleheader.

Canucks head coach Dustin Caplette-Tarrant said things are starting to click offensively for his team.

“For us, it was just being aggressive at the plate, hitting the strikes that were thrown, and just watching the balls go by for walks,” said. Caplette-Tarrant.

The Canucks are now 5-3-1 on the season.

Riley Cushway, Tyson Ross and Cameron Beisal walked twice each in the first game for the Canucks.

Rylan Caplette-Tarrant had three good innings on the mound, striking out three, while Owen Varjassy struck out four in his three innings of work. Kale Pratte and Noah Thul had a pair of hits each for the Canucks.

Beisal got three hits in the second game and pitched two and two-thirds innings of solid relief of Owen Csada, who struck out eight in his three and a third innings. The Canucks pulled away with a huge eight-run fifth inning. Rylan Caplette-Tarrant drove home four in the game, and Cushway had a pair of RBI himself.

The Canucks' next action is Thursday at home to the Regina White Sox. There are no provincials, but Baseball Regina league playoffs are expected to take place on the second weekend of September.
