I woke up early.  I didn't need the two alarms I set each night.  I was alive and alert with adrenaline flowing within seconds.

Today is my first day on the new computer program in the CHAB control room.

If you're a Baby Boomer or, like me, from Generation X, you can relate to and imagine the anxiety and trepidation I was feeling today.

I reassure myself by going back in time - back to the turn of the century when we at CHAB made the switch in the news department from typewriters, reel-to-reel and cassette tapes to computers and digital audio.  It was overwhelming for a few days but then, once a guy starts catching on, you find this new technology is wonderful.

Also, when I first started on the computers, I recall being scared to touch the buttons.  I don't know why, I just was.  Today, I seem to be hitting all the right buttons.  I can't find all my buttons but they'll show up eventually.  I just know it.

Anyway, thanks for listening and I'd urge you to stay tuned because the next several days are going to be an adventure.  I may make some mistakes.  This could be fun and funny for you and me.
