If you've been around Moose Jaw since the 60s and 70s, you'll remember.  I do.

We used to slow down twice a week.  I mean the whole city slowed down on Wednesday afternoons and on Sundays.

I can recall a number of local businesses and professionals like doctors, dentists, lawyers and others used to take Wednesday afternoons off.  You'd find many of them at the local Hillcrest and Lynbrook golf clubs in the summer and at the curling and hockey rinks in the winter - out for a little mid-week exercise.

Oh, and remember Sundays in the 70s and the early 80s?  They were reserved for attending church and spending time with family and friends.  If I recall correctly, there was a local bylaw in place that limited many businesses from being open, including bars and lounges.

Bootleggers were operating and making big money on Sundays.  It's true.

Those were the days, my friend.  We thought they'd never end.  It's probably a good thing they did.
