It's fresh and new and they tell us "state-of-the-art", with some of the latest and most sophisticated, modern technology.

Our new Dr. F.W. Wigmore Regional Hospital will open for business this week.  Anything and everything needed from the old Union Hospital is packed up and making the move today and tonight.  In fact, the new, fully equipped emergency room will open at the new place tomorrow morning at 7:30.

It's a process that started over a decade ago when we, as a community, demanded a new facility.  The Saskatchewan Party promised us and we voted for their candidate, electing Warren Michelson in Moose Jaw North back in 2007.  Here we are, 8 years later, and Premier Wall can use his favourite line;  "Promise made, promise kept."

We took our time in the planning stages with a focus on getting it right.  The Five Hills Health Region met with the community and got input from our local health care professionals including doctors and nurses.

They've been telling us the new facility will provide "increased patient privacy and expanded flexibility to provide better care."  Here's hoping.

Congratulations, Moose Jaw.  You did it.
