What a great idea!  The good people at Hunger in Moose Jaw are offering cooking classes for local youth ages 13 to 18.  You can see the story and get all the details on DiscoverMooseJaw.com today.

Learning how to cook healthy meals is an important life skill in my opinion.  I can tell you stories about a number of family and friends - adults - who had or have no idea how to prepare a proper meal.

I was fortunate.  We rarely ate out or ordered in when I was growing up.  Visiting in the kitchen while my mom was cooking was a thing!  She was engaging and entertaining and I learned how to cook by observing and absorbing what I saw.

Oh, I started with warming up Chunky Soup and making Kraft Dinner but by the time I was 12 or 13 I could make almost anything from bacon and eggs to grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, casseroles and salads.  I still enjoy cooking and always eat a well-balanced diet.

The only problem is...I eat too much!  That's another story for another day.
