Were you there one year ago tonight?  If you were, chances are you were very cold.  But you stuck it out as long as you could because you paid big money for your tickets.  Despite that, most of us left early - seeking heat.

Oh, I thought I was ready.  I dressed in layers.  I wore warm socks and leather boots.  I had good gloves and a toque.  It wasn't enough.  It turned out, the only people who were comfortable were those who dressed up in snowmobile suits.

There were 33, 518 people in the stands for the start of the game and, I'll guess about 5,000 when it finished, in overtime, about three hours later.  By then, my friends and I were indoors, having snacks and a beverage in a nice, warm restaurant.

In fact, we were there before the 2nd period started, watching the game and greeting other frozen hockey fans as they came in to warm up and settle in.

It was one year ago tonight - Saturday, October 26th, 2019, that we attended the NHL's Heritage Classic at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.  There was snow and blowing snow and a windchill factor down around -20.

The Winnipeg Jets beat the Calgary Flames 2-1 that night but not many seemed to care about the results.

The frozen fans I talked to were all wondering why we didn't put a roof on that place.
