What a wonderful group of people I had the pleasure of interacting with yesterday - virtually, unfortunately.

The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce - Golden West Radio Citizen and Group of the Year Awards presented by CAE Inc. was live on YouTube, Facebook and DiscoverMooseJaw.com

Five exceptional people were nominated in the Citizen category with five local organizations up for Group of the Year.  I know, for some, it's no consolation but really, the fact that locals took the time to nominate these outstanding individuals and groups is truly a feather in their caps.

Angele Sereda is our 2021 Citizen of the Year.  She's a mover and a shaker.  She changes the status-quo and moves things forward.  Among the many projects she's involved in is the Tru-Unity Girls Leadership Program, an effort to mentor young, local women and encourage them to challenge career stereotypes.

The Moose Jaw Transition House is our Group of the Year.  Under the leadership of Jenn Angus, this organization has expanded with an eye on education and prevention, offering programming for women, children and men.

They are good people doing good things and making our community a better place to live, work and play.
