So, our provincial government unveiled what they're calling the "Safe Schools Plan" yesterday.

The focus is on safe attendance and safe facilities along with a call to "adapt group activities to reduce physical contact".

And, among the eight "safe components" is "Safe Alternatives".  Level 1 includes "Return to school, as close to normal as possible" and Level 2 states "Mask usage as determined by the Chief Medical Officer.  These masks are being purchased centrally by the ministry of Education and distributed to school divisions."

So, to be clear, masks will not be mandatory for students and staff to start the school year.

Education Minister Gord Wyant said, "...Saskatchewan has chosen in this particular instance, in phase one, as we want to open up schools in as most normal way as possible, that masks won't be mandatory in our schools."

It was about two hours later when our government shared a post on social media which read, "Wearing a non-medical or cloth mask - even if you have no symptoms - is an additional measure you can take to protect others around you, particularly in situations where the recommended physical distancing cannot be maintained."

So, now, I'm confused.  Is it just me?
