I remember the day, but I wasn't sure what the year was.  Well, after a former colleague posted photos of that day, I now know it was 1989.

I remember it was in the afternoon and I believe on a weekend when we welcomed some of the coolest cats I'd ever seen in the radio station.  They were on tour in support of their new record, Diamond Mine.  Yes, it was Blue Rodeo.

Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor came in with their guitar cases and performed live on CHAB that day.  That record, that tour, took those boys to the next level and 32 years later they're still rockin'.

We had another brush with fame a few years later in 1995 after we switched our format to country music.  An up-and-coming star from Ontario was in the station for a visit.  She gave us a VHS copy of her video for her new single.  None of us had ever even heard of her.

The new single was "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under".  The singer was Shania Twain.

And, I wonder, does Shania remember that day like I do?  Probably not.
