While many of us struggle with social isolation during this COVID-19 pandemic, it strikes me that we're very fortunate to have made all the technological advances in recent years.

Think about it.  At the turn of the century, cellular telephones were just starting to become main-stream.  Facebook didn't launch until 2004 and Twitter in 2006.

Remember?  While many had home computers 20 years ago the only social media I can remember was MSN - people could "chat" via text message.

Today, we have so many options.  We can have live video visits with friends and family from around the world.  We can use Facebook Messenger and Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram to exchange greetings and entertain each other.

Some of our best entertainers are going live on Facebook, performing songs and telling stories.  I've watched Kim Berli from the Stampeders and Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy singing and playing and the legendary Burton Cummings has done a number of live, free shows.

I guess my point is, while we're in-tough and going through a difficult time, we have much to be grateful for.
