Hundreds of local people are looking out their windows at the snow today and wishing they could be relaxing in the warm sun at their winter homes.  If you're not one of them you probably know someone who has a place in Arizona, Florida, California, Hawaii or Mexico.

The COVID-19 pandemic is, of course, the deterrent along with the tighter international travel restrictions for Canadians.

How do you feel about the new rules?  Most of us support them.

In fact, 86% of those surveyed by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies are in favour of the strict measures which include the suspension of flights to warmer climates.  87% say the government should go further and ban international travel - period.

It's interesting to note, 91% of respondents from Atlantic Canada and Quebec are in favour of the new restrictions while about 25% of people from Alberta don't agree with the rules.  And, they participated in this survey before their groundhog, Balzac Billy, predicted 6 more weeks of winter yesterday.
