It's "Throwback Thursday" as we share memories of days gone by during this, CHAB's 100th anniversary.

Let's go back to the time when our studios were located at the now vacant building at 116 Main Street North.  We had the 2nd floor while the local Lions Club operated a hall on the main floor and rented out the Lions Den in the basement.

Next door to us was The Modern Cafe.  Oh, we had a lot of meetings and ate a lot of food at that place and it was always a pleasure.

There was Philip and Freeman hosting in the morning and the lovable Paul Chow would come in before lunch to serve his customers and he knew everyone by name.  Kenny and Huey were in the kitchen and they'd make you anything you wanted to eat at any time.  The woks were always hot and ready and the menu extensive.

A full plate of bacon, eggs and home fries went for $2.99 in those days.  If you went in for lunch or supper you'd get a fresh bun with butter, a glass of cool water and your choice of soup or tomato juice as soon as you took your seat.

Those were good days.  And those good people at The Modern Cafe are a most memorable part of CHAB history.
