You know that Great Big Sea song, "When I'm Up (I Can't Get Down)"?

That's me today.  What gets me "up" is reading about progress on COVID-19 vaccines.

Moderna told us its vaccine, so far, looks to be 94.5% effective.  This news comes a week after Pfizer announced similar news.

Canada has already ordered enough of the Moderna vaccine to inoculate about 28 million people.  That's about 75% of our population.  I find this news encouraging.

It's interesting to note, earlier this month, an Ipsos poll for Global News found only about 54% "would be willing to take a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as they could".  The poll also found 82% "would wait for reports about the effectiveness or any side-effects of a COVID-19 vaccine before taking it."

I'm no mathematician but these numbers tell me, if you, like me, are willing and eager to get that vaccine, we won't have to wait in line very long.
