The federal or provincial government - which do you trust more to make the right decisions in managing the COVID-19 pandemic?

Researchers from the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina got some results that may surprise you after they collaborated on a national survey.

They found in Alberta and Saskatchewan, "trust in the federal government is higher" than it is in a number of other provinces.

The study focused on the role of government and division of power and found 31% of Canadians favour a larger government with more services with 19% leaning toward a smaller government with fewer services.

Also, they found folks on the prairies, 46% of us, are "most likely to say that governments negatively impact most people's lives".

And, when it comes to pandemic management, the "proportion trusting federal government more to manage the pandemic" is highest in Alberta at 33% and Saskatchewan at 31%.
