So, I took some vacation time last week.  I needed to attend to some personal business and, frankly, I needed a rest.  It was good.

I didn't have to worry about going to bed at 7:30 and getting up at 3:30.  That's a treat.

I was also fortunate to get a few games of golf in at the local Hillcrest Club.  It struck me yesterday that every golf partner of mine last week is retired.  Some of them play golf 5 or 6 times a week.  They don't have much to worry about.  I envy them.

Then, yesterday afternoon, one of my homies dropped in to say hello.  We got caught up on the neighborhood news and gossip and as he was re-capping his past few days for me, I realized he didn't know what day it was.  He thought it was Saturday and he was somewhat confused when I informed him that it was Sunday.  It was funny.

When he left and I was reflecting on what was a most entertaining visit, I thought, that'd be so good - to not have to even care about what day it is.

And now, I'm really looking forward to that - to just forget about what day it is.

I just hope it doesn't happen before I retire.
