Carnie's Comments

So, this past weekend, I'm taking a morning trip across town in the car and I saw a number of things that made me think.

First, as a turned the corner at 9th and Macdonald, I saw a motorcoach waiting to load up outside the Kinsmen Sportsplex.  I assume it was one of our local lacrosse teams taking a road trip to play a game.

A little further down the road, the Bullet Adams minor baseball park was empty.  No ball game there.  It was nice out.  And I wondered, if I were a kid again, would I rather be outside playing ball or riding a bus to play lacrosse?  It'd be baseball - hands down.

Don't get me wrong.  Lacrosse is a great game and we have a wonderful program for the kids in Moose Jaw but, it's baseball season.  You know?

Anyway, as I rolled down Macdonald and turned north at 4th Avenue NW, one of the two minor baseball diamonds was in use at McCullough Field.  It was a group of happy young fellas playing cricket!  It just made me happy.

So, I guess it's lacrosse season, cricket season and baseball season.

Oh, by the way, I was on my way to hit a little white ball with sticks and chase it around in a gas-powered buggy.  It's golf season too!
