Carnie's Comments

I just finished reading about the loss of April Wine's Myles Goodwyn yesterday when I learned Chad Allan had also passed away.

Goodwyn, the gifted singer, songwriter and guitar player who rose to fame with April Wine, died on the weekend in Halifax.

Allan, who fronted Chad Allan & The Expressions, the band that turned into The Guess Who, died at the age of 80 last week after struggling with health issues for several years.

Myles Goodwyn was 75 and had been engaging with fans on Facebook up until a couple of weeks ago.

Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings are among the stars paying tribute on social media. You can see it for yourself on the Rob Carnie in the Morning Facebook page today.

It was 1974 when The Righteous Brothers sang, "If there's a rock 'n roll heaven, you know they've got a hell of a band."

Here was are 49 years later and that band just got a whole lot better.
