When was the last time you used it?  Did you take a look through the new edition when it arrived in our mailboxes last week?

The new SaskTel phonebooks are hot off the presses.

The last one I kept was six years ago.  It contained 392 pages.  The new one only has 232.  Yes, the phone book has shrunk by over 25% since 2017.

It's nice to see there are still a handful of local restaurants sharing their menus in the phone book but not as many as years gone by.

Remember when they had pages full of coupons at the back of the book?  Apparently, that's not a thing anymore.

I see the local taxi cab companies have their numbers listed.  That's a good thing.  Did you know we have six of them competing for your business?  That surprised me.

The fact is, most of what's in the phone book these days is easily accessible on our cell phones now, including our personal contacts.  We just have to touch a couple of things on our screens and we can make those calls automatically now.

Most of us don't memorize phone numbers anymore.  We don't need to.

You know something else?  Quite often I ask local radio listeners for their phone numbers.  Some have to think about it.  Some have to look it up...on their telephones.

Kinda funny, isn't it?
