Carnie's Comments

Time for "Throwback Thursday" as we take a look back during this, CHAB's 100th anniversary.

It was about two weeks after I started here in the summer of 1986 that I first met Barrie Vice.  He joined us from Alberta and he was our new #1 man, the host of the 800 CHAB Morning Crew Show.

While he left us once for a stint in Calgary, he's been here for most of the past 36 years.

It was just a few days ago that Barrie Vice, deservedly so, was inducted into the Western Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Friends, family and colleagues from across the country offered congratulatory messages on social media, as you can imagine, and one guy said it better than most of the others.

A former CHAB personality, Maz McFly wrote, "Barrie Vice.  A great teacher and an even better person!  Many of us owe you a debt of gratitude for teaching us the right way to do things.  Always looking after us."
