He said, "What an incredible journey to make this happen in 120 days. So special and such a positive impact...to Moose Jaw and Saskatchewan."

Ryan MacIvor, the general manager at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, was talking about hosting the World Para Ice Hockey Championship.  The plan came together quickly and the work to retrofit our arena was completed ahead of time.

And, what a time it was. Teams from the USA, Czechia, China, Korea, Italy, Germany and Norway joined host Team Canada for the week-long event, enjoying all our city has to offer and making an impact on local people from young students to long-time hockey fans.

And now people are talking about the "legacy" - the long-lasting impact the tournament will have and those people include the men and women at Hockey Canada. They produced a video, declaring that "after renovations made to the Moose Jaw Events Centre" and making it "fully accessible for para hockey, the legacy will help grow the game on the prairies."

Today, a "tip of the hat" and a "way to go" to the volunteers, sponsors and staff at the Moose Jaw Events Centre for making this event possible.
