The City of Moose Jaw is holding up its end of the bargain when it comes to an upgrade to the Union Hospital but the province has yet to commit.

Moose Jaw City Hall has started charging us the hospital levy. However, the expansion at the Union Hospital remains on hold, for now.

Five Hills Health Region Executive Director of Strategy and Communications Craig Beesley tells us things are slow moving despite constant communication. "The project is still very much in the planning stages. We continue to have dialogue with the Saskatchewan Health officials about he project but we have yet received approval to go to the first stage."

Among the planned improvements is an upgrade to our operation room, which is now over 50 years old.

The budget for the project is pegged at 21.6 million dollars.
