After being closed for the majority of 2020 and most of this year, Casino Moose Jaw is back up and running at full capacity.

Masks are no longer mandatory, all gaming tables are completely open, and food and beverage services have returned.

Shanna Schulhauser, Director of Communications with Sask Gaming, says they're happy with the number of returning guests so far.

"Guest demand has been pretty steady. When we started to re-open in Step 2 of the Roadmap, we were meeting capacity limits and would have line-ups at times. But now that we're into the thick of Step 3, guest interest has been great."

Schulhauser says both Casino Regina and Moose Jaw have been able to bring back all of the staff that were temporarily laid off as well.

"Obviously our employees were really excited to get back into the workplace and this is probably the closest that its been to normal for them as well."

It will be a while, however, before live entertainment is back. Schulhauser says they're hoping to reopen the Casino Regina Show Lounge later on in the fall.

"Right now, we're looking at a November 1 reopening date. That will coincide with the renovations on the west side of the casino. So that will open in tandem with the holiday season which will be perfect timing."

Renovations and building updates could soon be coming to the Moose Jaw location as well, adds Schulhauser.

"This is part of a multi-year facility plan and so at some point in the next couple of years, we'll be making our way to Casino Moose Jaw to do some renovations there as well."
