What was your household income last year?  Think about that and compare it to the latest batch of numbers from the 2016 census.

Statistics Canada has found the median income of Canadian households reached over $70,000 in 2015, an increase of almost 11% from 2005.

Interesting to note, Saskatchewan saw an increase of more than 36%, thanks to the commodity price boom.

What I find most interesting about the latest numbers is the fact close to 96% of Canada's married or common-law couples are in situations where both spouses are working.  That number was about 66% back in the mid-1970s.

I fondly remember my mom being at home for us when we were kids.  She had to be home to greet the milkman and the bread man when they made their deliveries.

Those days are gone.
