Effective yesterday, Gas & Electrical Licensing services will be transferred to the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) from the Ministry of Government Relations.

Centralizing inspection and licensing services within TSASK will create efficiencies, simplify the inspection process and reduce government “red tape”.

The GOS has consulted key stakeholders such as the Electrical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan, and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan. Both associations are in favour of this reorganization.

This is an organizational change and will not affect staffing or service delivery.

TSASK was created by the Government of Saskatchewan in 2010 with the goal to serve as an independent regulatory body within the province. The decision to centralize these positions within TSASK is an extension of that goal.
