The Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce is hosting an information session for business owners that might be confused or have questions about their property tax assessments.

The information session will be an in-person event on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. at the Shrine Club Masonic Temple.

Rod and Kristy Van Slyck from Viridian Property Corp. Will be speaking about building classes, cap multipliers, rental ranges, mezzanines and districts as well as their experience with the appeals process.

Ryan Simpson from Atlas Group will also be in attendance to also help business owners understand their tax assessment.

Representatives from the City of Moose Jaw, local property owners and MLAs Greg Lawrence and Tim MacLeod have also been invited to attend this event.

Tax assessments take place every four years and with the inclusion of school and municipal taxes as well as the terminology used, it can be difficult to navigate.

Those interested in attending should register on the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce website.
