Ah, yes.  Christmas time - Christmas traditions like "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire."  Do you know anyone who does that?  Me neither.

I do know a lot of people like to buy the Christmas nuts still in their shells.  I was never a fan of those.  I suffered a couple of minor injuries trying to get those nuts out of their shells and once you get to them, they're not even salted.  What's the point?

Oh, and how about the Toffifee and the Mandarin oranges?  Are these Christmas time traditions in your home?  Did you know know you can buy them year-round now?

Growing up, it was our tradition for my Dad to make deep fried oysters for brunch and we had a neighbour who would make a trade every Christmas morning.  He'd bring over a plate of bacon wrapped chicken livers and he'd get a plate of oysters, complete with homemade seafood sauce made with ketchup, Worcestershire, and horseradish.  I just thought that was normal.  Turns out it's not.  Apparently we had our own traditions.

Merry Christmas!
