The City of Moose Jaw has finalized the increase to the 2021 property tax and extended the 2021 property tax payment deadline. 

During the city council meeting on June 14, councilors approved the 2021 property tax bylaw that finalized a 2.96 per cent increase. 

The budget was initially approved during deliberations last December. 

The increase breaks down to 1.1 per cent for Moose Jaw Police Service operations, 1 per cent for parks and recreation capital improvements, and 0.86 per cent for city programs and services. 

City council also approved extending the 2021 property tax payment deadline from June 30 to July 31 at 5 p.m. Property tax notices are expected to be issued in the coming days. 

Property taxes can be paid the following ways: 

  • In-person at City Hall between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday (excluding statutory holidays). 
  • In-person at your financial institution. 
  • Use the dropbox in front of City Hall that is available 24 hours a day (cheques only). 
  • Mail the payment to City Hall: 228 Main St. North, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 3J8 (no late payment charges if postmarked by July 31, 2021). 
  • Payments through the Tax Installment Payment Plan Service (TIPPS). 
  • Online with your credit card (through a third-party service provider).
