Do you know someone who is making a difference in your neighbourhood? Why not nominate them for the City of Moose Jaw’s Notoriously Good Neighbour recognition program.

Nominations can be made through the City of Moose Jaw’s website or the free mobile app. Teaming up with the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce, the city will choose one nominee each month. They will receive a Notoriously Good Neighbour certificate of achievement and a gift card from a local business.

“We just want to help recognize people that go out of their way on a daily basis in their neighbourhood and show them that we appreciate them, we respect them, and we want them to keep being notoriously good neighbours,” bylaw enforcement officer Cristin Korchinski told the city’s Notorious Jawcast.

Chamber of Commerce CEO Rob Clark told the Jawcast that they were happy to be a part of the program.

“We can see this project lasting for a long time and we, as a chamber, couldn't be more delighted than to help support it,” Clark said.

The program was announced on the heals of the city releasing its “The Notorious Nine – Nine Ways To Be A Notoriously Good Neighbour” guide.

However, bylaw enforcement officer Brian Simmer says being a good neighbour doesn’t stop there.

“They can contribute in some of the following ways: Someone who has a positive community spirit, through acts of kindness, neighbours who have enhanced the quality of life in your neighbourhood or the overall safety of the neighborhood. So really, there is no end,” he told the Jawcast.
