In honour of Canada’s official National Tree Day, which was on Wednesday, the City of Moose Jaw announced this year’s Tree of Significance.

The city’s Park and Recreation Department reviewed numerous nominations and announced a mature ornamental crabapple tree at 680 MacDonald St W. as the 2022 Tree of Significance.

This tree was nominated due to its beauty, its perfect shape and exceptional size.

Moose Jaw’s Tree of Significance program has been held annually in conjunction with National Tree Day and National Forest Week since its inception in 2011.

All Trees of Significance since the program’s inception in 2011 may be seen with this link on the city’s website.
