The month of October saw a total of 15 permits issued, including four commercial permits and 11 residential permits, for a total project value of $2,634,200.
Of those permits issued, one was for a new commercial construction at 663 Ominica St W, and one was for new residential construction at 950 Hastings St. All other permits were for alterations and improvements, additions to an existing building, or garage and carport.
By this time last year, 26 permits had been issued for new dwellings totaling $10,056,560, while this number by the end of October this year, 13 permits were issued for a total of $4,076,185.
Year-to-date, there have been 143 permits issued in 2023. This is down 55 permits from 198 by this time last year, for a decrease of $14,433,354.
