The City of Moose Jaw is inviting residents to come to Mosaic Place on Thursday night to talk a little beer, brands and barbecue.

The headliner for the event will be international branding expert and best-selling author Gair Maxwell, who helped brand the City of Moose Jaw and Canada’s Notorious City.

“I think it'll be an excellent opportunity to get out and enjoy some socializing. Hear the latest from Gair in terms of what he's doing and hear more about how he and the City of Moose Jaw came up with this slogan ‘Canada's Most Notorious City’ and, also hear a little bit more about our Get A Life campaign,” said Moose Jaw Mayor Clive Tolley.

Tolley and Maxwell will be interviewing several local business owners to talk about their branding and marketing stories. Some of the guests include the CEO of Moose Jaw Co-op and Chair of the Downtown Moose Jaw Association Geoff Anderson, Terry Zwarich and Cody Schulze from Moose Jaw Brewing Company and Charmaine Franken from Lion’s Creek.

The barbecue and beer for the event will be completely local as well. The pulled pork will be provided by Thunder Creek Pork, while the beer will be supplied by the Moose Jaw Brewing Company.

“So, it's really exciting for us to kind of feature their pork product and feature the local beer and I think it's just going to be a wonderful evening,” Tolley said.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Sasktix.ca.
