We're now seeing the aftermath of last night's heavy winds. The Moose Jaw Municipal Airport recorded a top speed of 160 km per hour.

According to the highway hotline, parts of the #1 going west are still closed but most of the roads surrounding Moose Jaw have returned to seasonal conditions.

Locally, most roads have a thin layer of ice on them and will require you to slow down if you're travelling today. City crews have been working hard to spread sand, but the process takes time.

Garbage pickup is cancelled for today but recycling in Zone 6 is still running.

City transit is back up and running and Schools serving Moose jaw in the Prairie south school division will be picking kids up this afternoon.

The majority of Moose Jaw lost power midway through the night as well. There is currently no estimated time of repair from SaskPower, and we will provide updates as soon as they become available.

At this time, the Yara Centre and Mosaic Place are both still closed due to the outage.

The École Ducharme has finally regained power and will be open for the rest of the day.

Damage to trees, buildings, and vehicles can be seen all over the city today.

The good news is the wind should start to die as the day goes on.
