Under self-isolation and unable to get out to get necessary bloodwork done?

Quest Laboratory Services in Moose Jaw are providing a service for people in Moose Jaw who need lab testing during this time. Most labs in the city are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Moose Jaw's Quest Labratory Services is heading out to people during this time to collect samples.

Regional Quest manager Kristen Stewart talked about what she does.

“I’m available from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. every day and the business has been increasing quite a bit. It’s been about a year but we’re definitely getting a lot more people calling and requiring bloodwork to be done,” she said. “At this time, the lab is only running tests that are for essential services.”

People need a requisition from a Saskatchewan-licenced doctor for bloodwork.

She notes that it's been difficult to get private services going in the city and that need has increased greatly since the pandemic and state of emergency.

“I take it directly to the lab,” Stewart said. “There’s one lab that does all the testing for all of Moose Jaw.. The results go directly to the doctor just as they would if you went to the lab yourself.”

Stewart notes they are on Facebook. Results will be provided to the ordering physician within 24 hours. The service is by appointment only by contacting here.
